Description

In the Wake Of feels like the aftermath of an unseen elemental force moving through the canvas. Green, yellow, violet, black, white, and gray sweep across the surface in layered currents, creating the sense of nature in motion without becoming a literal landscape.

The viewer is placed inside the wake, after something has passed through, disturbed the field, and left behind color, pressure, and residue. The darker cellular marks keep the piece from feeling purely decorative, giving the painting an organic charge that feels alive, unstable, and slightly untamed.
