What B.O.X. means
Beyond Ordinary Xpression.
The name describes the work itself: art that moves beyond one surface. Every layer contributes to the image, and the space between those layers is part of the composition.
Inside a B.O.X.
Built in layers. Finished as one object.
The typical framed work is approximately 9.2 × 9.2 × 2.5 inches. Every B.O.X. is cut, assembled, illuminated, and tested by hand in the studio.
Plexiglass structure
A clear internal layer supports the dimensional construction.
Glass front
The finished work is protected without flattening the view into it.
Wood frame
The frame is part of the object—not an afterthought around a print.
Integrated LED light
Light activates the layers, shadows, edges, and negative space.
What makes it different
The artwork changes as the room changes.
Move past it and the layers realign. Turn on the light and new edges appear. View it from the side and the construction becomes visible. A B.O.X. is never only one fixed image.

The design and composition are completed entirely under JD’s direction. Studio B.O.X.es are typically limited to 10 individually handmade editions. You choose the finished design—there is no customization or Foundation pairing.
